Do What Thou Wilt Shall Be The Whole Of The Law

Since we still seem to be here, I'll take this 666 day to announce the deadline for Abramelin submissions of one month from today 7/6/06.

We're doing well with the poetry - might take a couple more. But we definitely need some essays.

Check us out: www.abramelin.net

I've decided that the first issue will be called "the fledgling issue."

Love is the Law, Love Under Will

v.

Of Ritual and Exhaustion

I would like to thank everyone for coming out to our ritual. It was amazing to be on the other side so to speak. Special thanks of course to D. our replacement J. You wore that outfit so well :-) And made it all click just right.

Though I feel somewhat like a chaos sort of person, I will endeavor to learn everything. I have always felt that an artist should be able to reproduce the mona lisa before splashing a couple splashes on the page and calling it brilliant.

Work is... getting ugly. It's going to be one long hot summer. I'm going to do my best to make it through though. See you in September!

just a thought

Every time I go to the lodge, I'm struck with a thought - perhaps based on attachment - but perhaps something deeper. That I am stealing time, that it is a moment stolen from someone or something (simply from linear time?). And while I am not perfect, nor often really even as good as I should be, the stolen moment is something to be treasured.

second bonk

So I did get my second bonk on the head yesterday. I hit my head on the ducts in the basement at work. Cut it a little but I was wearing a hat (should I wear a safety helmet) so it wasn't so bad and I'm totally fine. I just think it's funny. It happened because i was just that tired. We didn't get back home Saturday until after one and I had to get up at 6 then worked almost 10 hours. By the end I could barely stand let alone think or concentrate.

But really what i wanted to talk about was karma and magick. There's this little woman at work who irritates everyone and me quite a bit. In going with my new promise to stand up for myself, I'm not letting her push me around. I'll be making 2 or 3 complex dishes and she'll be instructing me on how to unwrap a roasted turkey package - stuff like that constantly - when it's not even remotely her place. She does it to everyone. Anyway, a few days ago I thought of getting her fired and I thought it might have manifested. She didn't show for work on saturday and just before we left for the lodge the owner called and asked if I could come. Luckily Erin answered and said I was gone already. But I realized, oh I'll be working waaaay too much and maybe harming this person's life. She was back yesterday obviously. But I told the owner I could handle both jobs on Sunday and he agreed to take her off Sundays. So now I only see her a couple hours on Friday. Anyway, what I learned from the whole ordeal is I should be more thoughtful of consequences of stuff. Basically, I could handle this conflict in a practical muggle manner, and perhaps this is better in many situations.

Sometime Thursday afternoon at work, the universe slipped back into place. Around this time, the owner let me play with an asian noodle salad - a lot of oranges, orange juice, sesame and ginger. It's a runaway hit and is going on the menu - topped with salmon or steak, a bargain at $9.00 :-)

My hand has healed with amazing speed. I'm exhausted (have to work 10 hours on Sunday) but feel pretty good overall. The world has lost its general 'flatness.'

See y'all in a couple hours!

coming apart? seems seams stitch

So I was reading this story a friend of wkdwych had put in his journal about manifesting gas for his empty car to get to a gas station (asking the universe for gas credit). Well yesterday morning I woke with a pinched nerve and couldn't move my arm for an hour. So I asked for pain credit so i could make it to work. Sure enough, by the time I had to leave I was feeling okay.

Then

Last night, exhausted, I absentmindedly grabbed the handle of a 400 degree pan making dinner at home. Oh wow. Pain unreal. I thought it was going to be worse. Had to sleep with ice. But I happen to have a very good burn cream and this morning there's only 2 bad spots.

But

I'm not sure I'll ask for pain credit again!

More about a bonk on the head

So physically I have recovered from the concussion with only a tight neck remaining. But spiritually, I feel the world has flipped, reversed polarity into a sort of bizarro world. The most obvious example is the owner at work who is suddenly very mean where he never was before. He had a screaming fight with a girl in the kitchen and fired her.

But more than this I feel somewhat astrally blinded, and somewhat unable to look inside people. I feel much like Troy in the TNG episode where she loses her empathic abilities.

The cards indicated that this was a temporary situation and that following a period of strife I would recover and 'see some stuff I may not be prepared to see.' Also I can't be totally blind because I played a mindreading game with this guy and saw the # 7 very clearly and he guessed it immediately as he saw it as well.

But part of the fallout has been that I allowed a boy to trample on my will this past weekend - essentially so that he would leave. I had promised not to do things I didn't want to do anymore, but it seems my desire to be liked by all gets me in trouble with my will. Well, live and learn. I can promise that will not happen again. And I still say it wouldn't of had I not been bonked on the head.

I got a concussion at work yesterday. A very heavy wooden bar slammed me on the head about as hard as you can be slammed! I feel a bit better today, but am still pretty dazed.

But otherwise I love my job. It's great to be respected in the kitchen. At my last job, the owner was a moronic speedfreak who would come in once every 3 days and yell at us. But the owner here rocks. And he likes me a lot and we discuss recipes and stuff. It's exhausting, but working out great so far. And he was really concerned about me yesterday.

Holy Days

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.

The first 2 days, I came in exhausted from my new job. After the ritual I was charged and refreshed. The first day was mystical for me. I had an experience similar to one a had a couple weeks ago where all pain was removed from my body (I have suffered from tmj for about 10 years. 10 years is a long time). It is truly enjoyable to be totally pain free - even if for a little while. The second day built on that. I was a cup, a tree, a pouring of light from all sides and above into Hadit. The 3rd day was definitely a 3rd eye sort of affair, which turned into a genuine opportunity for change for me I believe. I plan to stick to my slaying of the personal demon as well as I can. The red, the swords, I felt like a soldier.

And perhaps as wonderful as the rituals were, the fellowship was equally as beautiful.

Love is the law, Love under will.

Sad to have missed the class on Saturday, but we did many magickal things nonetheless. Got fabric and Erin is making robes for us. That's right, the first E G L I designer label robes (Erin G Long Island lol - better than DKNY). We also constructed a fairly authentic altar and are in the process of painting it and all. And I did some fairly impressive hermetic energy transfer stuff - saw a very interesting and detailed mandala-type-thing as I did so. I wish I was an artist or had better astral memory so i could remember it, but I've forgotten all the details already.

So I'll be posting this many places... Does anyone know any food correspondences for Hadit? I found almond - preferrably something that works with a cake?

So this is my first entry. I don't do livejournal/myspace much, but I thought I'd give it a try. Will anyone read??? Nervous nervous.

I had a great time last night at the lodge. The ritual had a lot of power. As did the wine. I hope I didn't get too out of hand. Nah, I know I didn't. Just a little silly and more outgoing which is good for me.

It sucks Erin has to work on Sundays.

Not sure what to do with this journal. Full flavor? Just a taste? I dunno. We shall see.
